The CBL Values


The CBL’s values guide the beliefs and actions of our organization on a daily basis. In fact, our values are our competitive advantage in the amateur basketball marketplace. Our organizational management and the ownership and pride of our participants are distinctive characteristics of our culture.

1. Taking care of our participants (players and fans): The key to our success is treating participants well. We do this by training our league commissioners and associates, by recognizing and rewarding good performance from our commissioners and associates, and by leading and developing our commissioners and associates so they may grow.

2. Giving back to our communities: An important part of the CBL is giving our time, talents, energy and resources to worthwhile causes in our communities and society.

3. Increase health and wellness awareness: The biggest impact that the CBL can have is improving someone’s health and wellness and raising the health consciousness within a community through awareness. The CBL will strive to make an impact both individually and as a community.

4. Providing worthwhile life skills training: The CBL will partner with the Foundation sponsors to provide all of our leagues with classes, seminars, and/or workshop topics that our players will appreciate and will want to participate in.

5. Excellent customer service: Along with our quality products and price, we must go the extra mile and give our participants (players and fans) superior service and help them to get the maximum benefit out of our leagues.

6. Creating shareholder value: The investors who provide the capital necessary to allow our company to grow need and expect a return on their investment. We are committed to providing it.

7. Building strong relationships: Strong relationships are built on trust, honesty and integrity. We listen and respond to the needs of participants (players and fans), commissioners and associates, communities and vendors, treating them all as partners.

8. Entrepreneurial spirit: The commissioners and associates are encouraged to initiate creative and innovative ways of serving our participants (players and fans) and improving the business and to spread best practices throughout each CBL city.

9. Create and encourage business stewardship: If you support the CBL the CBL will help you with generating revenue for your business through our business stewardship promotions.

10. Respect all people: In order for the CBL to remain successful, our participants (players and fans) and our commissioners and associates must be in an environment of mutual respect, with each being regarded as a part of the CBL team.
